It seems like this would be similar or the same thing as albums.
It’s actually a bit different than an album: this feature request would automatically consider all images taken within ~1 second or less of each other (caused by either holding down the shutter release, or pressing it many times in quick succession), as long as they have very similar image content, to be gathered together in a single asset.
Other apps use the term a “burst” for this situation.
I think this feature request is similar to Filename-based file aggregation for Epson FastFoto "enhanced" and "reverse side" photos
