Hello.
I’m new with PhotoStructure and it looks very interesting to me, but unfortunately, a serious problem has arisen. The program doesn’t process my .pef files (Pentax RAW files), of which I unfortunately have several thousand. Only those saved as .dng files are added to the library (Pentax cameras offer this option, and I have some raw files saved as such). Sony .ARW files, Fujifilm .raf files (although with a minor issue) and other .dng files (e.g., Pixel 8) are also processed. Interestingly, the same .pef files are recognized and processed by the dcraw_emu program included in PhotoStructure. Is PEF support disabled by default?
Thanks in advance.
Howdy! I may be able to add PEF support, but could you email support@photostructure.com a zipfile with a portrait and landscape .PEF (and ideally, the JPG paired files so I can validate the aggregation code works properly)? Ideally there would be no personal content in the image so I can add the images to the integration tests (which will be at least partially open sourced). I’ll check the metadata before I commit them and verify that there’s nothing personal there as well.
Cheers!
Thanks much! That would be great. I had some trouble finding PEF+JPEG pairs (I usually only keep RAW files in my archives), but I managed to do it. I’m sending a few photos to the email address provided.
By the way, in my opinion, the program is still missing a few features to efficiently manage and organize photo collections. For me, the most important would be the ability to delete unwanted photos (duplicates, but also simply bad ones) and to add, delete, and change keywords. This would make organizing collection much easier.
