Newly-added directory not scanned until PhotoStructure is restarted

Expected Behavior

“Restart Sync” should scan a directory that was newly added to the “Where are your photos and videos?” settings section.

Current Behavior

New directory was not scanned until I restarted PhotoStructure.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open settings
  2. Add new directory under “Where are your photos and videos?”
  3. Click “Save”
  4. Click “Restart Sync”

In my case, I had C:\Users\Daniel\Pictures in the list, and added D:\GooglePhotosTakeout to the list. The “Automatic library organization” option is enabled.

Environment

Operating system and version: Windows 10 version 20H2 (build 19042.685)

PhotoStructure edition: PhotoStructure for Desktop 0.9.1

Thanks for reporting: I’ll try to reproduce this on my box and get this fixed.

I experienced this same bug. I added a couple new manual paths (in addition to the already-working, existing manual paths) but the new paths were not scanned. I tried “restart sync” and “rebuild (slow)”, neither one forced photostructure to recognize the new paths.

Completely restarting photostructure worked to start importing assets from the new paths.

Thanks for that report. I’ll try again to reproduce this next week.
