Odd/Incorrect year after indexing catalog on some files

I have a handful of files named similar to:

20-01-03 10-18-56 3153.jpg

and after importing they are put in a year folder structure in the catalog dir like this:

:file_folder: 20
ā†’ :file_folder: 20-01-03

         ->  20-01-03 10-18-56 3153.jpg


Timestamp on the image is 2020 as well.

1) Any idea as to why this is this happening for these files?
2) Any way to modify the indexing to fix it so I can have clean year folders?
