I’m experiencing a couple of issues that may be related (or could also be user error).
I am updating some of my existing photos to add hierarchical taxonomy tags to photos of birds. My process for doing so is to add the tag to the RAW file in darktable, and then export a JPEG, and then overwrite the JPEG in the library location. (note: I do not import RAW files into Photostructure, only exported JPEG).
After performing this replacement procedure, I tried re-sync (using “sync now” on the relevant scanned folder on the “System Activity” page). That did not update the asset with the newly added tag, so I tried “More actions > re-sync all folders” on the “System Activity” page. Still, the asset was not updated with the tag. Then, I tried going to the individual asset in Photostructure, and clicking the 3 dots and “Re-sync this asset”. Thankfully, that worked.
The result was a new “taxonomy” folder in the left hand navigation bar. Click on this showed me the photo that I just updated. Great!
So now, I did the same process with a couple other bird photos with different taxonomies. I again had to “Re-sync this asset” on the individual photos in Photostructure. However, when I then went back to the “taxonomy” folder (expecting to see these 3 new photos within that tag), it still only showed me the one original file. I am able to click in the breadcrumb path on the level with differences, but I cannot select I higher level to see everything.
This is what I see when I click “taxonomy” even though there are now 5 total assets under that tag:
I can select “Passeriformes” or “Piciformes”, but I can’t see all “Aves” together.
Am I doing something wrong? Is Photostructure misbehaving? Some combination of the two?
