Question regarding BTRFS

I have a mess that I am trying to clean up on my Synology 220+. Basically multiple folders that contain my photos and a massive amount of duplicates. I think that PhotoStructure may be the solution. I have tried using Claude to get it installed but gave up. I decided to start over from the website install instructions. My question is, do I need to change my NAS to BTRFS?

PhotoStructure works on Windows, Mac, and Linux, on any filesystem. You do not need BTRFS.

That said, since you already have a Synology that supports BTRFS, I highly suggest converting to it and enabling data checksum and regular data scrubbing to detect and correct bitrot (I have it scheduled monthly).

To set up scrubbing on Synology, I believe I followed How to Configure Data Scrubbing on a Synology NAS in 2024
