Strange numbers and reappearing files

Expected Behavior

After the recent update the expectation was that the number of assets and files would stay more or less the same.

Current Behavior

The number of assets is not at all equal to the number of files and assets in the library.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Update ran more or less automatic (required 2 reboots)

  2. The resync ran for a few days

  3. The activity screen gives odd numbers

  1. My impression is that a lot of previous deleted files have been added to the library again

Environment

Operating system and version: Windows 11 Pro Version 10.0.26200 Build 26200

PhotoStructure edition: PhotoStructure for Servers 2026.8.0-beta

Apologies for the glitch!

Please DM or email me your recent sync reports and log files—this seems like something at the very end of the asset finalization pipeline is failing. If the finalization isn’t successful we don’t mark the asset as “shown”, and the library metrics only count shown assets.

Hi @pilatus,

I dug into it: the odd numbers are our bug, not your library: sync was re-counting the same files over and over, which inflated the totals on the Activity screen and makes it look like old files are being re-added. This will be fixed in the next release. If you can still send those logs, I’d like to double-check that your actual photo count is unaffected.
