v2026.9.6 is mostly a stability release, for every edition:

  • Long jobs no longer time out while they’re still working. Large files, slow servers, and slow storage only time out when a job stops making progress.
  • Browse tags with your mouse: click a name in the tag path to jump back, or its arrow to browse inside it.
  • Desktop: Go Forward and Full Screen in the View menu, and Open at Login on Linux.
  • Node edition: npx photostructure is now the recommended way to run without Docker. See the new quick start.

Upgrading a git-clone install from v2026.9.5? If startup stops at a bare > prompt, press Ctrl-D and the update finishes.
