Missing or incorrect tag counts

If you see that there were different tag counts between the library metrics and the asset count that shows next to your When tag on the home page, it’s due to a defect in v0.9.1’s periodic tag count updater.

This will be fixed in the next release:

:package:/:bug: Orphaned tags are now properly vacuumed from the library (prior SQL could quietly fail).

:package:/:bug: Tag counting temporary tables are cleaned up properly now.

Tag counting has been substantially reworked since this original report:

  • v2023.12: Tag counts are now updated in real time as assets are added or removed.
  • v2026.2: Fixed a bug where assetCount could accumulate NULL values. Tag counting now uses a closure table for fast hierarchical asset counts, the System Activity page supports on-demand recounts, and a health check monitors count accuracy.
